We were well looked after & the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Although they were in the middle of refurbishing, nothing was too much trouble. Very comfortable bed, two good nights sleep.

Description

Self Assessed 3 Stars Guest House

Seven in Brightstone is located next to the 12th centuary church of St Mary, and our summer terrace overlook the church and is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon.

Our newly refurbished Coffee shop and Bistro is a cosy place to spend some time, and our menu caters for all tastes, from a quiet drink to a 3 course meal. We have three en suite bed and breakfast rooms, perfect for a relaxing break. Each has a seperate decor theme and are all named after flowers.Rose, Orchid and Bluebell.

Brighstone villiage lies on the sunny side of the chalk downs that march east-west across the centre of the Island. The 12th century church of St Mary the Virgin has the unusual distinction of having had three rectors who have become Bishops, the most famous being Samuel Wilberforce son of the anti-slavery campainer William Wilberforce.

Brighstone is also within walking distance of the jurassic coast ,famous for unique dinosar remains which can still be found in the cliffs. Indeed a fine example of an iguanadon cast has for many years lived near our kitchen door.Seven is an ideal place to stay for anyone contemplating a fossil hunting holiday.

The West Wight coast is also famed for its surfing beaches, and the relatively new sport of kite surfing. Hang gliding has long been a popular local pastime ,and lessons are available locally. Stunning walks and cycle routes surround the villiage offering great views to the sea and countryside to the north.

Although not strictly an hotel , Seven has the benefits of having a licenced Bar open all day , serving draught and bottled ,beers, wines and spirits as well as freshly ground coffee and cream teas in season. Fresh local produce and Island produced meat and game is our speciality.
