Glen Avon has an amazing location, very hard to come by in Cornwall. The cabin is lovely and the owners so kind and generous. We slept in gorgeous darkness, listening to the owl at night and the trickle of the river. Fabulous!

'Glen Avon' is a genuine country cottage overlooking one of the creeks of the Helford River, between the villages of Mawnan Smith (2 miles) and Port Navas (1 mile) in South Cornwall. It nestles between farmland and the wooded creekside, with its own private foot access to the water's edge.

The well-known gardens of the Trebah Trust, and Glendurgan (National Trust) are within a mile and a half, with other similar gardens (Carwinion,Trevarno) within visiting distance. It is also an excellent location for exploring the coastline, sailing waters, nearby towns of Falmouth and Helston with their numerous attractions, or for simply enjoying the immediate surroundings, with a host of wildlife to observe and enjoy. There are plenty of excellent eating establishments within a five-mile radius, varying from the waterside restaurant at Helford Passage, to the cosy informality of the Red Lion in Mawnan Smith, or the Trengilly Wartha near Constantine.

The accommodation at 'Glen Avon' is 3-star rated, being cosy, comfortable and attractive. It sleeps five people in a double bedded room, twin bedded room and single room with a low beam, most suitable for the smallest member of the family. The kitchen, (with electric cooker and washing machine), dining room (pine furnishings and oil-fired stove), and lounge (colour TV, DVD player) make up the downstairs, the three bedrooms upstairs, with a bathroom/wc (over bath shower) mid-way between the two floors.

There are no extras at 'Glen Avon' - beds are made up for your arrival, and all heating , etc. is inclusive, but we do ask you to provide your own bathroom towels. Your dog is welcome to join you on your holiday, also at no extra charge. You are able to access the cottage by 2pm on the Saturday of your arrival, and are asked to vacate it by 10am on the Saturday of your departure. For fortnightly bookings, clean linen is brought to you at 10am on the middle Saturday.
