Description

Visit Britain 4 Stars Guest House

The Heworth Guest has undergone a recent major refurbishment. All the bedrooms are now fully en-suite. Room 1 & 6 have king-size beds & Rooms 1 & 3 have a larger than normal shower within the bathroom. Room 3 has a zip & link super-king bed. Free WiFi is available throughout as well as all the bedrooms being hardwired for internet access. All the bedrooms have wall mounted flat screen Tv.

There is a guests sitting room with access 24/7. We are not located in the very centre of the City but we are in a lovely conservation suburb of York called Heworth which is situated 0.9 of a mile to the very centre of York which is Parliament Street. There are a choice of local eating places if you did not want to go back into York centre. During the evening you could take a ghost walk around the city, a stroll down the Shambles, Stonegate or a cruise on the Ouse.

Pre-booking the Jorvik Centre can be made by calling them. York Castle Museum and York Minster are two top attractions. This York B&B is ideally situated for day trips to the Yorkshire Moors, Dales and the coast. Castle Howard is only 14 miles out of York.

Just a little further is Pickering where you will find The North Yorkshire Moors Railway, an 18 mile journey on a steam train through beautiful Yorkshire countryside finishing at the historic coastal town of Whitby.

"Mousey" Thompson the furniture makers can be seen in the Thirsk area (Kilburn). Thirsk, where 'James Herriot' (James Alfred Wight) practiced, is approximately 24 miles from York.
