Northumberland is renowned for beautiful beaches and dramatic coastlines. There are a multitude of castles steeped in history plus stately homes, market towns and attractions available. The most famous castle is Alnwick Castle. Alnwick is also famous for its market town. Every week regular markets are held in the impressive cobbled marketplace overlooked by the Northumberland Hall. The famous Alnwick Food Festival and Music Festival take place here each year and entice thousands of tourists to see the displays.

Cyclists and walkers are attracted to Northumberland for its dramatic scenery and breathtaking views. If you fancy a boat ride, then visit The Farne Islands, two miles off the coast of Seahouses home to wildlife and thousands of birds. Visitors can see puffins, guillemots or the colony of grey seals on the island. Boat trips leave the harbour every day from April to September.

Newcastle & Gateshead are less than an hours drive away and offer some excellent visitor attractions and shopping facilities. Newcastles boasts some of the best entertainment, nightlife and restaurants in England. The North East has something to offer everyone
