The warmth and friendliness of the staff and their willingness to address any concerns that arose immediately
Dislikes:
The electricity kept going off. The hotel staff were doing everything they could to address the problem.

As a business traveller, I have never come across a hotel who could not provide me with a full breakfast service before 8am. As the room was provided on a B&B basis, I feel the option of making my own… Read more

As a business traveller, I have never come across a hotel who could not provide me with a full breakfast service before 8am. As the room was provided on a B&B basis, I feel the option of making my own toast and paying for it was laughable. As as my business is with one of the Faculties at the University of Brighton, they will not be recommending your hotel for future guests needing accomodation. Read less

Our breakfast times of 0800 to 0930 are suitable for the vast majority of our guests so I am sorry that you were inconvenienced. I have spoken to the manager regarding an early breakfast and he told me that all guests are offered a breakfast tray. Regardless, the chef arrives at 0730 so an earlier breakfast could have been negotiated. I will copy your review and this response to the UoB so they can confirm whether or not they have withdrawn their recomendation of this hotel.

Room 201 is a small room and we price it accordingly. Perhaps, I might recommend a front facing room if you need more space to stretch out.

We received a very warm welcome to the hotel and were able to check in 2 hours early. Our Executive room was very spacious and comfortable with a clean and functional bathroom. There was a good choice for breakfast and my poached egg was perfectly cooked. We did not leave Eastbourne for several hours after checkout but were able to use the facilities of the hotel until we left and were provided with parking vouchers to cover our entire stay. Read less

Thank you for your reerview and for your third visit. Mentioned the issue of the bathroom which has caused my two housekeepers to fall out as they both blame each other. Regardless, I am glad the manger sorted it out but sorrry that it happened in the first place. Looking forward to seeing you on your fourth visit but try and book a room on the top floor...these are my favourite rooms

Stylish rooms, with very good tea/coffee making facilities.
Dislikes:
Shower-bathroom should be cleaner and there should be more fruit variaty at breakfast.

The overall feeling of the hotel was lovely and calm with a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was modern however we did find that the modern up to date look
Was downstairs and upstairs looked older.
Dislikes:
We felt a little let down by the room. The bed was very low, about a foot off the floor with a hard mattress. Neither of us had a good night sleep. The en suite was also too small and poorly fitted.

Apologies for the bed in room 101...it is a bit low and I am not sure whether it is to everyone's taste although I have not had complaints about the firmness of the mattress. The room is described in our publicity as "small but not miniature, they are ideal for short stays and budget travellers". Please discuss with reception next time and we promise to ensure the bed (and mattress) is suited to your requirements.
