We felt very welcome upon arrival and were pleased with the room we had. It was beautifully decorated and was perfect for what we needed. I noticed the window was wide open, so we shut it (which took some muscles!). We later regretted this though because the heating was left on full all night and the window then wouldn't open up again. It made for a very uncomfortable broken night's sleep, which was a shame because the room was very cosy but we couldn't appreciate it at all. Read less

The heating system, which was unbearable. I'm presuming the hotel knows it gets hot in the room, hence why the window was wide open in the first place (which somebody could actually fit through).

Cambridge is described as one of the most beautiful cities in Britain and home to one of the world's oldest universities. Consisting of 31 colleges, the university has some of the finest collections of buildings in Europe. There is plenty to do for visitors, from punting on the river Cam to dining at the wide range of restaurants.
The bedrooms are boutique-style and have been decorated to a very high standard. All are ensuite with satellite TV, tea and coffee making facilities, in-coming telephones, clock radios and hairdryers, full central heating and double glazing.
Brooklands Guest House is situated in a residential area. It is located just off the ring road, convenient for the city centre, railway station, Addenbrookes Hospital and all other major attractions.
Brooklands GH is also situated on the main bus route which runs regularly into the city centre, railway station and Addenbrookes Teaching Hospital. Buses run infront of the Guesthouse into the heart of the city, every 5 minutes during peak periods. Brooklands Guest House is minutes from the ring road.
If you enjoy walking, the historic city centre and main shopping area is a leisurely 20-minute walk. Within walking distance of Brooklands GH are numerous places to eat, as well as a friendly local pubs and many coffee shops, stores and other outlets. Also within a 5-minute walk is the new Cambridge Leisure Park, which has a 28-lane bowling alley with an arcade, various food outlets, an LA Fitness gym and a fantastic multi-screen cinema with bar.
If arriving before 14:00, there will be someone to meet you. After this time, there is a 24-hour self-check-in facility (you must contact Brooklands Guest House before arrival if you want to use this).
Off street parking is available for customers travelling by car. Wireless Internet available for all the guests without charge.
