Mark and Christine welcome you to the White Hart Hotel, Modbury – a traditional Inn with traditional values. Dating from the time of the Domesday Book, Modbury is a thriving community between Dartmoor and the sea, in the South Hams area of Devon.(Large carpark at the rear)

The White Hart Hotel is a great St Austell pub situated in the heart of this fantastic old town, and reflecting ‘old Modbury’ charm. With a wood burning stove in the bar in the winter, and cosy traditional seating – the White Hart Hotel beckons you in to sit, relax and enjoy the good company of friends old and new. In the summer months, windows are opened to lead out onto a cobbled terrace where you can relax in the shade and enjoy a cool drink.

Historic towns including Modbury,Bigbury, Totnes, Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe are wonderful places to visit in the South Hams. There's outstanding architecture, stunning coastal views and their quirkiness make them a special part of your holiday. Many of the shops are very individual, allowing you to find treasured items to take home for family and friends. Totnes is said to be the 'alternative' capital of England, it makes a great day out.

Spend time meandering through Devon's old streets, take time out and feel a sense a calm, enjoy a Devon cream tea and then break for lunch in one of the many small restaurants, inns or bistros. Take life at a somewhat slower pace and you'll savour every minute of your holiday.

For those of you who'd like to visit one of the many local attractions, there's the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, a wide range of National Trust properties and gardens all around Devon and if you venture into Cornwall, a day trip can encompass the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
