The Manager/owners idea that as we had booked on the web and got a good deal that we were not entitled to the 2 4 1 offer on the food, esp as the place was empty on the Monday night, lack of beer

"We wouldn't stay again."
On arrival, we found out that the boiler was broken. so there wasn't heating in the whole building so small electrical heaters were provided. When we arrive in the room, we found out the toilet wasn't flush after somebody had used it. On our last day after the cleaners had been in, we found on the floor some mens underwear that didn't belong to us. Very little apoligies were given and not even compensation. Read less

Tucked away in the Lakeland village of Brigsteer, at the foot of Scout Scar, with its stunning panoramic views and on the edge of a damson-growing region of Lyth Valley, The Wheatsheaf is an impressive food lead country inn.

There’s a traditional feel though a recent refurbishment has given it a contemporary twist with polished oak floors and handcrafted bistro style furniture. Menus are based around the impressive seasonal abundance of locally sourced produce, fish from around Morecambe bay and flavoursome game and meat much of which is reared themselves in conjunction with local farmers. Their own grown fruit, vegetables & herbs complement the finest of local ingredients and is aided by an excellent wine list and local cask ales that will leave you more than satisfied. 3 double bedrooms are upstairs for those lucky enough to stay over after an excellent evening of hospitality and have the chance to explore this beautiful area.
