In summer we have an outdoor area with picnic benches where you can enjoy the views of Black Combe and totally relax.

Lovely place, done up to a very high standard and good taste. Owners were very friendly and gave great recommendations of where to stay. My boyfriend loved the whisky, and the bar was very pleasant.

Welcome to Wayside Guest Accommodation & Whisky Barn. Wayside Farm was built in approximately 1637 on the west coast of the Lake District, Cumbria.
Wayside guest accommodation & Whisky Barn is situated at the base of Black Combe, surrounded by stunning scenery and the Cumbrian coast.
It is the perfect location for a relaxing weekend away or for the more adventurous we provide an excellent base for walking, biking, sea kayaking, wind surfing, kite surfing, we have fantastic horse riding, or if you are touring around the south west coast on motorbikes.
We are an ideal place to stay overnight, with secure parking, and after an exciting day out, why not relax with a cold glass of beer, or a pint of cold draught peroni, good food or a warming single malt whisky, if you try one and really like it you could purchase a bottle from our whisky barn to take home with you.
In summer we have an outdoor area with picnic benches where you can enjoy the views of Black Combe and totally relax.
The accommodation has been carefully and tastefully renovated from a disused derelict barn and has kept many of its original features. All four bedrooms are decorated individually, have good quality furnishings and are all ensuite. If you enjoy the outdoor life and walking then Black Combe is located directly behind the hotel with easy access. The hotel has secure storage, ideal for bikes, canoes and other equipment along with washing and drying facilities.
There is a heated shed availble complete with large dog crates, so your dogs can have a holiday too. They are also welcome in the bar area.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Here at Wayside we recognise our responsibility to protect and respect the countryside and the environment. We endeavour to recycle wherever possible and to cut down on wastage as much as we can. We feel it is our duty to care for and protect the nature and encourage wildlife in this area.
We are always looking for good quality local products to utilise in our business, our free range eggs are bought from the farm just down the road.
All our electrical appliances are A Rated, light bulbs are low energy, we have incorporated hemp into our lime plaster for extra insulation, we have more than ample insulation in our walls and roof, and all joints are filled with acoustic sealant. We have double glazing throughout, and when we were renovating we used as much of the original stone and timber as we could. We have under floor heating on ground level which is very economical and is controlled with thermostats; the condensing boiler is new and regularly serviced
