Thornton Lodge Farm

Thornton Lodge is surrounded by beautiful scenery and is 20 mins from York or Thirsk (the Herriot Country) and we are only one hour from the coast.

A short car journey will take you through picturesque countryside to the North Yorkshire Moors to the east and Yorkshire Dales to the west. This area is rich in heritage and tradition giving you so much to see and do. Famous attractive period homes, Harewood House, Castle Howard, Hovingham Hall, Benningborough Hall, Nunnington Hall, Newburgh Priory, and local abbeys such as Byland Abbey, Reivaulx Abbey and Fountains Abbey are all close by.

Ideally situated for Yorkshire racecourses of which ther are ten! There are many local attractions: Great Yorkshire Show, Bramham Horse Trials, Bramham and Castle Howard Music Festivals.

We have two picturesque fishing lakes and fantasitic walks round the farm and on the Public Footpaths and Bridlepaths which go through the farm. The National Cycle Route No 65 passes the farm entrance.

There are two secluded downstair ensuite bedrooms with an adjoining sunny southfacing conservatory with it's own private entrance and veiws of the garden, pond and open fields beyond. These rooms are also ideal for elderly or disabled people and are graded with ETC and Disabled Accessibility Scheme level 2. Out of your bedroom windows you will see lovely green fields with ewes and lambs and mares and foals quietly grazing.

A Four Poster Double bedroom is upstairs with a large bathroom. All bedrooms are fully equipped with colour Freeveiw TV and DVD players, hairdryers and an excellent beverage tray.

We pride ourselves with our Award winning breakfasts offering a large choice of local produce with fresh farm eggs and cooked on the Aga. This is served in the conservatory

There is ample car parking space and a taxi service is available from Easingwold.

The area is enriched with excellent restaurants/pubs which use local produce, many have gained top National Eating Awards.
