Arrived late Friday evening and a birthday party was on so quite busy. Enquired about breakfast as we required it at 8am staff member said she would find out and come to the room. 1hr later I went and found another staff member who sorted it out. Room was a bit run down- the room could have been a lot better with dusting/cleaning simple things under tv, picture frames, shower room looked nice BUT shower hose could be cleaner, drawer had no back to it and didn't shut properly. Had a good sleep. Read less

Nice location loved the waterfall.
Dislikes:
Windows need updating. Rooms need updating very old fashioned and nothing matched. Could be a very nice hotel if money was spent to make it more modernised.

Enjoy your StayThe Old Mill Hotel in Motherwell is situated on the banks of the River Calder at the end of Mill Road, only half a mile from the town centre. The building dates back to the 16th century and the Hotel has made a feature of the original mill machinery, which is displayed behind glass panels, telling the 500 year history of the mill in the public bar. Adding to the atmosphere is the genuine waterwheel that was originally used to power the grain mill using the force of the River Calder as it came over the waterfall.
New for 2010 we have the Cellar Grill, a newly refurbished restaurant which has lovely original features such as water wheels and machinery, a very atmospheric and different place to enjoy a meal
We are open Friday and Saturday nights .
Motherwell is in an ideal location within Lanarkshire in Central Scotland. The main artery motorways in Scotland, the M74 and M8 are all minutes drive away, and we are within 40 minutes drive of Scotlands' three main airports - Edinburgh, Glasgow International and Glasgow Prestwick
