"Great place to stay - helpful owners"
We were in the area to watch my son's team racing at Donnington and at the last minute he was able to stay at the Stables with us - this proved no problem with the owners who provided a comfortable put you up bed, and when we could not give an exact time for arrival they made arrangements so we could get in whenever we arrived. Accommodation was only a 15 minute drive away - and was compact but had everything we needed and more! Read less

Clean and very comfortable-compact but with everything we required for our stay. Extremely helpful and accommodating owners. A very tasty cooked breakfast brought to our table in the Stables.

The Main Accommodation Consists of a spacious, tastefully decorated two bedroom self contained apartment with private kitchen and bathroom facilities. Off street parking is also available.
Tichnall is a small but picturesque village close to Melbourne and Calke Abbey. Built between the years 1701/03, Calke Abbey is a fine baroque mansion that has undergone very little restoration and is surrounded by wonderful parkland. The village contains a lock-up that was still used in the early part of the twentieth century, and the remains of the Church of St Thomas a Beckett on the site of the Church of St George, which was erected to cover the growth in population in the area in 1831.
