We spent three days in the beautiful medieval surroundings of Dunster to celebrate a significant birthday and St Valentine's Day. We explored the town on foot, marvelling at the exquisite bulidings and that wonderful sense of having stepped back in time. We also walked the moors and visited Porlock and the Tarr Steps. Spears Cross breakfasts should be world renowned! Read less

Spears Cross is situated in the medieval and picturesque village of Dunster, considered to be the most outstanding village in the Exmoor National Park. The house dates from the 15th century and is characterised by many attractive period features.
Offering four en-suite rooms, comfortable lounge and a traditional linen tabled dining room; Spears Cross provides a touch of quality. Breakfast features local produce and includes home squeezed orange and grapefruit juice, locally cured bacon and sausages. Gluten free muesli, bread, sausages and cake available. Spears Cross lies at the foot of Dunster Castle.
The house has a car park for guests. It is the perfect break for walking, cycling, golf, steam trains or simply unwinding.
