"The Shelter Stone" was built in the early 1900's and is a super example of a large period property with an individual character.
It has a central location with off road carparking.
We offer Twin or Double Rooms for "Bed & Breakfast".
It is also possible to hire the whole house which would sleep up to 12 for "Self Catering " ....please contact us direct for a price. The But 'n Ben is available for 2 people for self-catering. The Shelter Stone Bothy sleeps up to 4 for self-catering.

Likes:
Ability to use of kitchen in house was very useful and we made full use of this for evening snacks, storing wine and cold drinks etc. This alone made the stay good value in the round.
Dislikes:
Shower pressure in room is weak at best. TV lounge tends to be the preserve of the long-term residents. Worth bringing a portable TV and / or radio with you if you are planning on staying a few nights

The lounge is for use by all guests....whether first time or a repeat visitor......I do not have tv's in the bedrooms to avoid disturbing noise levels for guests so would not encourage others to do this.

The Shelter Stone is one of the few listed buildings in Aviemore so please respect the old girl's creaks!!!
Please note that these prices include continental breakfast....a full cooked breakfast is available if prebooked under booking extras.
There is plenty of off road parking at the front of the house or it is only a couple of minutes in a taxi from the railway station. It is centrally located on the main road only a few minutes walk from restaurants and bars.
There is a comfortable lounge with freesat tv and several books and boardgames are available for our guests relaxation.
Use of the kitchen can be arranged for guests in the evenings by prior arrangement.
A travel cot and high chair are available for our little guests.
