Welcome to The Shady Oak, a country inn situated on the A5004 between the Peak District towns of Buxton and Whaley Bridge. Stunning views over the Goyt Valley and the plethora of walking trails that exist in the surrounding area make the Shady Oak a magnet for walkers, outdoor pursuit-ists and people who just enjoy the countryside.
Whether you're staying in our recently refurbished rooms, having a meal or you've just dropped in for a snack or a pint we'll do our very best to look after you.
There is a large car park and a room in the bar just for dogs (and their owners) and you are welcome to tap into our wireless internet.
We take great pride in our food and the comfort and cleanliness of the inn, and that's behind the scenes as well as in front of house.
A room with a view is guaranteed at the Shady Oak. Because we only have three comfortable guest rooms in total, you are also guaranteed peace and quiet in a friendly intimate atmosphere.
Sue and Craig, the owners of the Shady Oak are both Chefs with fine reputations. The Shady Oak is famous locally for its food. Simple menus advertise delicious classic British dishes.
The Shady Oak is in a prime location for exploring the Peak District or walking the Goyt Valley. The railway station at Whaley Bridge is five minutes in a taxi and Buxton is very near.
