Laugharne and the Seaview are steeped in character history and everything just made us fell so at home. It is easy to see how you could just get "... off the bus, and forgot to get on again".
Response from Seaview Laugharne:
Thanks so much for those kind words, Roger. It was a pleasure to have you both as guests, and we hope you'll return before too long. Laugharne is beautiful at any time of year, as is the view from the bedrooms.

Wonderful sea view, with sunrise in the morning.
Comfy bed.
Wifi.
Dislikes:
The terrible smell of paraffin in the hotel and room. Breakfast could have been better cooked. On suite facility was the smallest ever. No car parking within 200 metres of hotel. No evening meals.
Response from Seaview Laugharne:
We're sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay at Seaview very much. The 'smell of paraffin' was, as explained, caused by an annoying intermittent problem with our boiler which we had been trying to sort out for weeks. Happily it is now fixed and the house smells fresh and welcoming again. It is a pity that you were dissatisfied with breakfast, as some of our guests say that Seaview breakfasts are some of the best they've ever had! Many of our guests park in Victoria St just yards from our door.

"A lovely hotel if it wasn't for the flies!"
We were given the "Curlew" room which is in the attic. It would have been a very nice room, but it was infested with flies - which grew in number as the night went on. I had a sleepless night due to the noise of all the flies. At 4am I counted that I had swatted around 30 flies. It totally spoilt what could have been a lovely evening.
The menu, though it was obvious there was a lot of culinary skill was very limited in choice. Read less

The hotel was in a great location and very nicely decorated throughout.
The breakfast was very good too.
The view from the window was lovely.
Dislikes:
I did not like the flies! - as mentioned above - and the total lack of empathy/concern from the landlord.
The menu was extremely limited.

Enjoy attentive hospitality at the former family home of beloved Welsh poet and writer Dylan Thomas in Laugharne, on the Carmarthenshire coast.
The light and charming en suite bedrooms, each with a view across the estuary, are available throughout the year and offer a fanatastic short-break location in a quiet spot with views of the nearby castle, estuary and countryside.
Following an extensive restoration project, Seaview can provide a unique destination both in quality and historic provenance. Dylan Thomas and his wife Caitlin started their family life here, after the birth of their son Llewelyn, and later admitted that their time at Seaview was the happiest period of their life together. You will find Seaview welcoming, comfortable and restful.
You can have breakfast in the elegant dining room with its genuine Victorian fireplace, take tea and first class cakes by the fireside in the bar and read a book from our visitors' library of fiction, travel stories, and literarary greats, or play cards or backgammon with a glass of wine, listening to some of the best music of the past sixty years.
Seaview is there to help you unwind. We have wifi throughout the building but we encourage you to switch off your phones, and switch off the outside world!
