The Red Lion Hotel is situated in the tiny hamlet of Bredwardine, which nestles on the banks of the River Wye just 12 miles from Hereford, and 8 miles from Hay-on-Wye.
Built of red brick, its origins lie in the seventeenth century when it was used as a coaching inn, also the lounge bears the name The Courtroom.

All our bedrooms are individually furnished and ensuite. Your comfort is our first priority, so we have provided each one with tea and coffee making facilities, colour television and a direct dial telephone.
Our aim at the hotel has been to provide you with a peaceful haven in the tranquil heart of England away from the hustle and bustle of work and every day life. Whilst every effort has been made to combine this warm, congenial atmosphere with all the comforts and facilities of a modem day hotel, you will find that the Red Lion retains much of its old world charm including oak beams, and beautiful antiques with blazing log fires through the winter months.
The reputation of our dining-room relies on well prepared home-cooked food, using as much local produce as possible, such as prime English beef, spring lamb, fresh vegetables.
The hotel stands on its own grounds in the centre of the village and there is a large well maintained and secluded garden at the rear where you can relax.
Situated in the peaceful heart of England, with the Malvern Hills to the east and the Black Mountains to the west this beautiful stretch of countryside remains an unspoilt rural corner retaining a great flavour of Old England. Linked by many rivers its richness lies in its farming, hop fields, extensive orchards of apples and a patchwork of cornfields and grassy meadows, home of the famous Hereford cattle.
Course, salmon & trout fishing is available at an extra cost.
