We needed somewhere to stay overnight before getting the Pembroke ferry the next day and found this place on the internet. We have 3 small children so staying in hotels is usually a bit of a squeeze but the family room in Clew House was a good size and we had a lot more space than usual. Read less

the remote quietness and stress free environment, room was great and spacious, en-suite was very clean
Dislikes:
upon arrival did not know where to go as their is no immediate sign of a reception or bell to ring to attract someones attention, but thats the only issue i can think of

Portclew House is a grand country mansion set in its own grounds. This ideal location in the Pembrokeshire National Parks is just a stone’s throw to the beautiful bay at Freshwater East.

This family run establishment is suitable whether your stay is for business purposes or pleasure. You will find the friendly, comfortable surroundings most welcoming.

We have seven bedrooms consisting of family, double, twin and single rooms. All have ensuite facilities, TV with DVD player, hairdryers and complimentary tea and coffee facilities. Ironing facilities and plug in telephones are available on request. Cots and high chairs are also available for our younger guests. We also have Wifi.

Our dining room boasts a sunny balcony where you are welcome to dine on more pleasant days. A good hearty Aga cooked breakfast will start your day.

We are situated near the coastal footpath and can accommodate walkers to the area by providing packed lunches, clothes drying facilities, luggage transfers etc. We are ideally located for all beach lovers and water sports enthusiasts who should visit the bays at Freshwater East, Manorbier, Tenby, Broadhaven South, Freshwater West and not forgetting the paradise found at the hidden bay of Barafundle.

Oakwood Theme Park which is just 15 miles away has some of the biggest rides in the UK. Other local attractions include Heatherton Country Park, Folly Farm and Anna Ryder Richardsons Wild Welsh Zoo!

Pembroke Castle is just a few miles away and the birthplace of Henry VII. Other castles to visit include Carew, Manorbier and Picton. A visit to the lily ponds at Bosherson and St. Govans Chapel is a must.

In the grounds of the guesthouse we have several high quality self catering cottages.
