Homely, warm, and friendly atmosphere. Food was excellent, the beds really comfortable, and the room was spacious. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. As an asthmatic no feathers pillows were a bonus.
Dislikes:
Absolutely nothing. I could not fault our stay and would not hesitate to recommend it to others and would certainly stay there again.

The breakfast was fab, rooms were quirky and traditional, whilst still modern enough (good showers, large digital tv with dvd player etc) to facilitate us! There was a pub in walking distance too!
Dislikes:
Lack of Wifi / telephone signal was the only negative for my other half, though this did not bother me!

Very pleased you enjoyed your stay.We do appreciate the problem with mobile reception but we are more than happy for you to use our landline which is free to any other landline. Also we do have free wi fi. Wish you had asked. We must make it clearer in the house to guests that it is available as well as on our website. Sorry about that. Once again glad you had a great stay.

The Pig of Lead was formerly a public house and is situated on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Bonsall. Now offering bed & breakfast accommodation with en-suite rooms.
All the rooms have central heating, tea & coffee making facilities and TV with teletext and DVD player. There is a guest sitting room with solid fuel stove to relax in at the end of the day. It is ideally situated within easy access to areas of local interest in the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District.
We have off road parking and secure parking if required. If you are a walker you can park your car for the week and find public footpaths in all directions on the doorstep. This is a family home with a friendly and informal atmosphere where we will endeavour to make your stay as relaxing and pleasant as possible. Opposite The Pig of Lead are Dunsley Meadows which are a small group of traditionally grazed fields on the west side between the woods and the valley bottom.
Here are some nearby places to go and visit, in and around the local area: Arkwrights mill, Chatsworth house, Masson mill, Haddon hall, National stone castle and Scarthin books.
