The Old Rectory has been sensitively and stylishly refurbished by the present owners Lynda & Colin Masefield. Guests are assured of a warm welcome, and friendly service in lovely surroundings. The Old Rectory is conveniently situated on the A303 but well set back in its own grounds nestling next to All Saints Church. Stonehenge is just a 20-minute drive, Longleat 20 minutes and Salisbury 25 minutes. It offers a great location base for your holiday and to explore the many local attractions.

It's very comfortable, food is excellent and cooked to order for you. The rooms and bethrooms are very clean tidy and well furnished. The Rectory is just by the high road to Exeter and is placed just in the middle of many atractions and touristic venues you do not wish to miss. Good pubs nearby to dinner. That is the England that unfortunately you cannot finds anymore in other places. Read less

We came in the evening and Collin offered us a ride to a very nice Inn in town where we had dinner which was very tasty. After our walk back we straightly went to bed and slept like angels. The Old Rectory offers great facilities for business people and is also an ideal venue for “family get togethers” .
The affordable price includes a delicious Full English Breakfast using locally sourced produce. The bedrooms have been refurbished to a high standard with full en-suite facilities including a lovely family suite.. In the reception area of The Rectory we offer complimentary use of a computer up until 9 p.m. Should you have your own laptop free wifi is available throughout the building. We also offer a small library of local books, tourist information leaflets and maps for your use during your stay.
It offers a great location base for your holiday and to explore the many local attractions within the beautiful Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset countryside or to break your journey while travelling to and from the West Country.
Walkers and cyclist are very welcome we are very close to Dorset and Wiltshire walkways.
Chicklade is a small hamlet and has the wonderful facility of the nearby village of Hindon, 1 mile away, it has a traditional store and post office and two excellent English Pubs serving both restaurant and bar food.

At the Old Rectory we are committed to doing as much as we can to help protect our environment. Lynda and Colin are dedicated to working on Green issues and implementing environmental policies to ensure that we are as enviromentally friendly as possible.

•Encouraging guests to use our excellent Park and Ride facilities in major town and city centres

•Changing to Energy Saving Bulbs where possible
•Thermostatically controlled, easily adjustable heating
