Nesfield Cottage B&B

Nestling in the traditional Derbyshire village of Barlow, Nesfield Cottage enjoys a tranquil location in the beautiful undiscovered Peak Border countryside. Ideal base for visiting Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall and Bolsover Castle, with Sheffield, Bakewell, Matlock and Castleton also nearby. Attractive spacious rooms, superking sized beds, home-made bread and cakes.

Currently, we are offering two tariffs: room plus light/continental breakfast, or room plus the full menu including full English breakfast. There is a difference in cost of £4. (per person, per night, based on two people sharing). Please note that the price shown on the booking form is the buffet breakfast price.

All the rooms have well-stocked refreshment trays with tea /coffee/snacks, complimentary fruit juice and bottled water and, whatever your choice of breakfast, there would be no difference in the high quality of service provided.

Please be aware on that on Tuesday mornings, only the buffet breakfast option is available. This always includes a choice of hot items eg porridge with a choice of delicious toppings or boiled egg with "soldiers". The full 3 course cooked breakast is offered at all other times.

The area has walking for everyone, ranging from strolls along gentle limestone dales to the unique gritstone 'edges' with their wonderful views and expeditions onto forbidding high moorland.

There's an excellent range of footpaths from the door of Nesfield Cottage and advice as to the best walks in the area. Maps and weather info are also available and, if you'd like to leave your car at home, we can arrange pick-ups from the local bus or train station (Chesterfield or Dronfield).
