Lying at the base of Souther Fell and Blencathra in the tranquil and unspoilt village of Mungrisdale, The Mill Inn provides the perfect setting for your visit to Cumbria. There are some beautiful low level walks along the Caldew River into the Swineside Valley. Open all year round for whatever you require, be it private function, a spot of afternoon tea, food and a drink or just a bed for the night. Our home cooked food is prepared on the premises by our chefs and is locally sourced in Cumbria.

"Great weekend break"
We thought our stay was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble for them. A great place if you like walking as there are numerous walks straight out of the door,we parked the car on Friday evening and never touched it till we were leaving. Read less

We thought the food & drinks were very good and not overpriced. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean. The location is great for walking. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Dislikes:
Our friends were in room 7 and the room always felt a bit cold even though the heating was on. Breakfast on the second morning was a cold (inexperienced cook)although this did not spoil a great stay.

With the Glenderamakin River flowing below and the Lakeland fells above, you are sure to appreciate the striking and pleasant location of our 17th Century Coaching Inn.
Downstairs we have a lounge bar with snug, games room with pool table (in winter months) and dartboard, and a dining room where breakfast & evening meals are served. In summer you can relax in our beer garden beside the river, and in winter you can warm yourself by the open log fire.
The Mill Inn has 5 en suite bedrooms, 3 double and 2 twin. Services include tea & coffee facilities in all rooms, and hair dryers and trouser presses are available.
We serve morning coffee and afternoon tea. Parties are catered for and we also have a Christmas menu.
