Tip: If you book this accomodation and use the post code from the website, we needed to travel about another half a mile along the road before we reached the actual accomodation.
Response from Mavisburn B&B:
Thank you for completing a review for Mavisburn and we are delighted that you were so comfortable here for your short stay. Thanks also for the tip above, we do try to inform the guests as regards the use of Sat Nav and the post code, so your advice will also, hopefully, be of help. John and I hope that your partners completed the challenge and were not too exhausted by it!

Thanks again.

Kind regards
Elaine & John

Mavisburn is ideal if you are looking for a central Highland base to tour from and the village of Fort Augustus and its local amenities are just 2.5 miles aways. We are situated in the wonderfully peaceful Auchterawe forest and surrounded by trees, fields and wonderful views of the Great Glen Mountain range, you may even be lucky enough to spot a deer, bird of prey or even the elusive Pine Martin during your stay.

If you are driving and using a GPS, please note that should it leave you in the middle of the forest by an electricity sub-station, then please keep coming along the road for a further half mile or so.

If you are walking or using Public Transport, then complementary transportation from and to the village is available. Please advise when booking.

At Mavisburn your comfort is of the utmost importance to us and we offer three rooms to suit your needs, whatever they may be.

Check in times: 4pm until 8pm.

Our Family Room with en-suite shower facilities, comprises one comfortable king size and two single beds. Please note that we welcome children from the age of 3 and that the maximum age for our child rate in the family room is 15 years of age.

Our Double Room en-suite also has a king size bed and the en-suite includes a bath along with a separate shower. Both rooms offer the perfect setting to relax following your day out in the highlands.

Finally our Single Room with private shower facilities opposite the bedroom, is bright and cosy, perfect for getting a good night's sleep. We supply a bath robe in the single room for our guests use during their stay.

We also offer basic complementary toiletries in each of the bathrooms and all towels are supplied.

Additionally, all of our rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, as well as flat screen televisions and DVD players. A selection of DVD's are available for guests to borrow and these can be found in the guests lounge, along with a selection of books and magazines.
Environmental Statement
We recycle and compost as much as we can and where possible, we use energy saving bulbs in lights.
