Wanted to spend 2 nights on Dartmoor. Found Lydgate Guest Hotel on an internet website. Excellent choice. The location of the hotel was suberb and had good views from the room. The meals : breakfast and dinner were of such a high quality and very enjoyable. We were made to feel very welcome - were given cream teas on arrival. Good stocked bar as well. The friendly, personal service from the owners.
Nice touches like tea and cake provided for us in the cosy lounge with blazing fire and soft music.Lovely breakfast room views and super breakfast.
Dislikes:
Our room (Dipper) was rather musty, but living in an old cottage ourselves, we realise that this can be a problem with older properties.

Lydgate House faces south with stunning views across both valley and moorland and is privately owned and run by Stephen & Karen Horn, who aim to provide the very best in personal service.
