the hostess was very warm and welcoming, offered us a cup of tea when we arrived and was very helpful in suggesting places we might like to visit. Excellent breakfasts set us up for the whole day.

The breakfasts were excellent, with home made and/or local produce.There was a lounge for guests to sit in,and the owners son in law served us coffee in there on arrival.

Low Urpeth Farm is a large traditionally furnished family home on arable farm offering accommodation of the highest standards, we offer 4 star GOLD award accommodation. Accommodation available includes B&B ensuite (Double/Twin) in the farmhouse and self catering cottages (sleeps 4 - 2 ensuite bedrooms).

Each ensuite bedroom - whether Double or Twin - has comfortable chairs, a selection of magazines, tourist and information books, toiletries, hairdryers, large luxury towels & bathrobes, FREE Wifi-, colour digital television (with dvd), tea / coffee making facilities.

1.Recycling of glass, paper, plastic & cans. We encourage guests and ourselves to do the same by providing recycling bins on site and in our cottages and bedrooms. 2.Compost caddies are provided for guests wishing to compost their food waste & compost bins are used by all at the farm. 3.Growing our own herbs - one stone bath and two plant tubs full of herbs. 4.Using recycled paper and products wherever possible. 5.Energy saving light bulbs are used throughout the properties. 6.Using environmentally friendly cleaning products. 7.Insulation in our loft spaces to increase energy efficiency double glazing wherever we can in properties 8.Buying fresh and fabulous local produce where possible from County Durham, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland. 9.Free bike storage. We encourage our guests to bring their bikes or hire bikes. 10.Provide maps of all the walks around the farm. 11.Rainwater collection for the garden. 12.Using email and our website to promote Low Urpeth
