Not a lot
Dislikes:
The fact that no one booked us in for nearly 15 minutes, despite our ringing the bell. The person who we thought was a customer drinking outside and whom we had walked past, had to be fetched inside.

"A very pleasant stay"
The hotel is not the best that I have stay in but the manager and is staff more than made up for any down falls. The hotel was booked in error, it should have been the Lansdowne hotel in Bath but if I was to return to Bath for a short break then I would re-book the Lansdowne in Calne.
PS the evening meal was excellent. Read less

This historic hotel, a grade 2 listed building, was built in the 16th century as an important coaching inn, and was also home to a local brewery for a time. The courtyard still has its medieval brew house. The hotel is located on the A4, just 15 minutes from the M4 in this Wiltshire market town.

With 26 rooms, all en suite, two function rooms, two bars and a bistro, the Lansdowne is a wonderful place to eat, drink and be merry, with enticing open fires in the winter just calling for visitors to linger in the bar over a meal and a pint of real ale.
