Kingswood is a beautiful 4 Star Gold Award rated guest house, now awarded the Breakfast Award we are situated at the heart of Britain's finest area of scenic and natural beauty....it's the perfect centre for your visit to the beautiful Lake District.
Windermere is a short stroll away and there is plenty to see and do in the area; visiting historic houses, museums or exhibitions and attractions. The area is best known for the choice of outdoor activities, hiking & biking, fishing, riding and more.
Our traditional guest house provides you with an excellent standard of accommodation and we like to think we can provide you with everything to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable stay. We are located in a very charming and quiet area, yet only a 2 minute walk from the shops and restaurants of Ambleside. Not only that but we are no more than 10 minutes walk to the beautiful Lake Windermere.
Our guest house is tastefully decorated and furnished to a very high standard, yet you will still sense the character of a typical Lakeland home and a warm atmosphere. The rooms are all a very good size and are equipped with all facilities one should need, including TV/DVD players, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers. We have recently installed WiFi access, which guests are welcome to make use of.
We serve a full English Breakfast in the mornings, using local produce, grilled for the healthy option, complemented with homemade marmalade and honey from our own bees! Vegetarian options are available as well as any other dietary requirements.
David and Christine hope to provide you with a warm and friendly welcome, making your stay in Ambleside relaxing and enjoyable. There are walks 'from the door' and written guides to help you stay on track, bike storage is available and ample parking for all guests. There is all you need for a comfortable stay and we will do all we can to make it a happy one.

We recycle as much as possible, we don't have awards we just do it. It is practice to use local food as much as possible to reduce food miles.
Our sausage and bacon is often from our own pigs ( raised away from the house ). Again to reduce the food miles.
