Likes:
the trip into Fowey, to Sam's Restaurant
Dislikes:
too far from town centre, to shop etc, up a long hill,no nearby shops or pubs
Response from Holly House:
We are not sure what the guests mean by saying that the room is basic, because although it is not decorated in an opulent style it is equipped with a flat screen tv with dvd player, a mini fridge tea making facilities with a very generous selection box of teas coffees, biscuits etc, an alarm clock radio and hair drier. There is also a coffee table and two comfortable chairs.
There is a pub and co-op supermarket within a five minute walk

The rooms are hung with John's watercolour paintings of Cornish coastal harbours. Prints on archive quality paper available.

There is garaging, hard standing, off road parking for 3 cars at the rear of the property, accessed via Edgcumbe Road. We have a lockable garage for cycles. There is a short sloping path leading to the back door. If arriving by Public Transport we would be happy to pick you up from the station by prior arrangement.

There is good public transport throughout the area if you prefer to arrive on foot.
Environmental Statement
At Holly House we aim to be envrionmentally friendly. Energy saving light bulbs are used wherever possible throughout the house. We recycle as much as possible including plastic bottles, glass, cardboard, clothing, and paper. Vegatable waste is composted and crumbs from the table are put out for the birds at feeders in front and rear gardens. We have robins, blackbirds, wrens, collar doves, blue tits and hedge sparrows and dunnocks nesting in the shrubs and most summers we have swallows in the garage. We have installed solar panels which supply hot water, double thickness loft insulation and the cavity walls are filled. Sash windows have been renewed with wooden double glazed units. Our water usage policy is that we do not wash unnecessarily. We ask you if you require your bedding changed if you are staying more than 3 nights. Towels will be changed as necessary. We use ecology friendly cleaning materials throughout the house.
