The Heworth Guest has undergone a major refurbishment over the last couple of years. All the bedrooms are now fully en-suite. Free WiFi is available throughout as well as all the bedrooms being hardwired for internet access.

There is a guests sitting room with access 24/7. We are not located in the very centre of the City but we are in a lovely conservation suburb of York called Heworth which is situated a 12-15 minutes walk to the very city centre (0.9 miles). There are a choice of local eating places if you did not want to go back into York centre. During the evening you could take a ghost walk around the city, a stroll down the Shambles, Stonegate or a cruise on the Ouse.

Pre-booking the Jorvik Centre can be made by calling them. York Castle Museum and York Minster are two top attractions. This York B&B is ideally situated for day trips to the Yorkshire Moors, Dales and the coast. Castle Howard is only 14 miles out of York.

Just a little further is Pickering where you will find The North Yorkshire Moors Railway, an 18 mile journey on a steam train through beautiful Yorkshire countryside finishing at the historic coastal town of Whitby.

"Mousey" Thompson the furniture makers can be seen in the Thirsk area (Kilburn). Thirsk, where 'James Herriot' (James Alfred Wight) practiced, is approximately 24 miles from York.

If the Heworth Guest House has no availability you could try www.selfcontainedflat.co.uk for a self catering option.

NO CHECK IN AFTER 8PM UNLESS BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT, THANK YOU.
