We stayed 2 nights at beginning of March, we stayed there just to do Skiddaw which is isn't much of drive away which was great for us. The owners were v.friendly whenever we saw them, which wasn't alot & with noone else booked in that weekend we had the floor to ourselves which was nice to relax & not worry we were disturbing anyone when we had to use the bathroom across the hall as we didn't book an ensuite room although we were offered the choice of another room, we wanted the balacony & view. hazelwood is a beautiful guest house situated in a good place (although the pictures are a litte misleading- it looked as though it was out in the country when its actually next to a main road!) the room was lovely and cosy and breakfast was excellent. however the service was a little 'cold' maybe and we felt they weren't as friendly to us perhaps because we are a younger couple.
