"Perfect"
We stayed for three nights - the George was our base for four days of waling in South Devon. The breakfasts kept us going for the whole day and the evening meals and range of beers were a perfect treat at the end of a hard day walking. In particular, the fish & chips were excellent, and worth a visit even if one doesn't stay. We stumbled into the Monday quiz night with locals-as-quizmasters and it was a real blast...even if we did forget our wine (given to us by another team). Read less

I rang up to say I would be a little later than expected, Ruth immediately pointed out I would miss some of the Italy-England game! Fish & chips. Made to feel very welcome by staff and locals alike.
Response from The George Inn, Blackawton:
Thank you for the appreciation, we are all so glad you enjoyed your brief stay in the South Hams. I had no idea your wine was left behind, there will be a voucher for a replacement in the post to you! Enioy the remaining 6 Nations games.
