"A great Scottish glen location and historic building full of crafted detail offering great service."
The Fortingall Hotel is set in quintessential Perthshire landscape with immediately homely and welcoming with log fires burning, and a relaxing atmosphere throughout its interiors. The service is personal without being intrusive and care and thought have gone into ensuring a very pleasant stay. The quality of the dinner and breakfast was exceptional. Read less
Likes:
The splendid location and nature of the building - all very atmospheric in the heavily frosted December weather.
We really enjoyed the food and a comfortable bed.
Dislikes:
One SLIGHT aspect that could be improved was the bathroom tiling - a few cracked floor tiles took the edge off the quality in this area.
The door key needed a bit of a knack (brass rim lock/latch).

"Perfect long weekend"
The location is perfect, near Aberfeldy for shopping, but more importantly lovely walking and driving. We saw red squirrels and orange sheep in Glenlyon! Staff are really friendly and helpful nothing seemed to be any trouble. Food was very good and the room was attractive and comfortable with a very good bathroom. Log fires in all the reception rooms. A true country house experience! Read less

Imagine a real country hotel, where the warm glow of lights and the roaring fires greet visitors and locals alike, where the staff are welcoming, the bedrooms are cosy and inviting, and the food is freshly prepared in an array of delicious, mouth-watering dishes.

Welcome to Fortingall Hotel, a place which is as charming as you imagine, which nestles in the middle of the historic Arts and Crafts village of Fortingall, hugging the contours of the hill at the foot of beautiful Glen Lyon in Highland Perthshire.

We are proud to have been awarded two AA rosettes for our Head Chef's imaginative and delicious cuisine. Dinner is served in either the stylish Arts and Crafts dining room, or the cosier Yew dining room. The dinner menu changes daily utilising seasonal produce, offering variety along with vegetarian options.
The lunch menu is supplemented by a selection of light snacks.

You can choose to eat from the bar menu in the evenings in the more relaxed surroundings of the Ewe Bar. Soup, sandwiches and snacks are served in both the bar and lounge at lunchtimes and throughout the day.

Our library has a wide selection of local books, maps, guides and walks, and is a pleasant alternative place to relax, for afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks or after-dinner coffee. It also houses our small gift shop with a selection of postcards, gift cards, Yew Tree souvenirs and prints from local artists
Environmental Statement
At Fortingall Hotel we are proud to claim a prestigious Gold Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme; along with Gleneagles, we are one of only two hotels in Perthshire to hold this award. We take our environmental policy very seriously and it is something that the whole team at the hotel is involved in. We encourage our guests to be aware of their own impact on our planet, by asking them to think about recycling, water wastage, and simple energy saving measures - none of which has any detrimental effect on a luxurious stay here. In addition, we support biodiversity in our local wildlife, with bird feeders, bird and bat boxes and a garden full of flowers to encourage the insects. We have information books in the library on wildlife, on walking and cycling routes and for our local public transport. Most of our suppliers are local and we use seasonal produce as far as possible, with venison from Glen Lyon, beef and lamb and seasonal fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs from the Estate.
