It was the first time I'd met a flat-screen digital TV in a b&b, and so it was possible to have a wide choice of radio stations too. And it had connectors for working as a laptop monitor screen. This small luxury was just one example of the care and consideration that have so clearly gone into this place. Read less
Dislikes:
A satnav and the postal address alone are not enough to find the way there in the dark -- at least, my taxi driver got lost on the wrong side of the A45. I recommend printing out the map beforehand.

Chose this lovely place to stay as overnight stop before taking part in the "Ride to the Wall". This is a very amicable place to stay. The owners are so friendly and helpful, my wife and I felt right at home. They even let me park my Harley in the barn! Make sure you get the right directions as there are two Staverton roads, the other one is in a housing estate. Read less

Warm and friendly people, who were especially helpful. Good breakfast too, but no sausages.

Drayton Lodge is a country farmhouse B&B with 5 comfortable rooms full of character. We are renowned for our full English Breakfasts where we try to use as much local produce as possible. Our free range eggs come from the farmshop just up in Staverton and our best back bacon comes from our local butcher in Daventry.
We are ideally situated in the centre of the Midlands with easy access to M1 North, South and M40.
Whilst staying at Drayton Lodge, you are still within easy distance of Daventry town centre and many local attractions. Within half a hours drive, you can be at Silverstone Grand Prix Racing Circuit, home of the British Grand Prix , Gaydon Heritage Museum for the car enthusiasts, Althorp House - Princess Diana's childhood home , Warwick Castle, Sulgrave Manor, Canons Ashby, Kelmarsh Hall, Naseby Battlefield, Cottesbrooke Hall and Gardens, Boughton House, National Waterways Museum at Stoke Bruerne, to mention but a few activities - you could spend a week here and not manage to see it all!
For those with an interest in sport/activity, Towcester racecourse is nearby, so to is Whilton Mill Karting, Draycote and Daventry reservoir. There are some excellent local fishing spots and lots of Golf courses. Polo at one of England's oldest Polo Club at Rugby - come and learn to play polo at Rugby's excellent teaching school Walking along the Nene and Jurassic Way.
Our local pub at Staverton does excellent food or for a more special occasion you could visit Fawsley Hall, set in it's beautiful parkland, in fact you could pamper yourselves a bit beforehand in their beauty rooms. There are lots of local pubs to visit as well - perhaps lunch at Braunston, sitting by the canal and then a stroll afterwards along the canal!
