Nice interesting layout to the building reflecting its past use & history.

Arrived about 7.30pm. Almost immediately Valerie offered and produced pot of tea & biscuits. Bill sorted minor connection problem with TV in room later. Room was fine and en-suite. Gave me buckets of water to wash my car in the morning. Gave me advice on local routes. Good choice of cereals, fruit and cooked breakfast options. Valerie was very pleasant and willing and I certainly recommend them.

Sands House offers excellent Guest Accommodation in Brampton, the heart of Hadrians Wall country. A charming historic building, Sands House maintains many of its original features. Sands House is situated within half a mile of the centre of the historic and picturesque market town of Brampton.
Just North of the English Lake District yet within 10 miles of the Scottish border, so many places are within easy reach. Birdoswald Roman Fort is a few miles away. Hadrian's cycle way passes our door and we have secure storage for cycles. For walkers we can pick you up and drop you off at various places on Hadrian's Wall.
Sands House has an interesting history - it has been an inn, a grocers shop, a public house, a hotel and now a guest house. The spacious lounge gives panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. Watching cattle, sheep or horses (in due season) grazing a few yards away, while enjoying breakfast in the dining area of the lounge, adds to the country feel.
