The location of the lodge was on a quiet street in the Hastings old town, just up from the promenade. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and made to feel very welcome during our stay. Our room was very comfortable and atmospheric but completely unpretentious. The lodge itself had a similar feel to it - a beautiful old timbered structure, cozy and lived-in, with no sterile sense of being in an impersonal hotel.Breakfast was expertly prepared in a bright kitchen by our very friendly and relaxed. To quote my husband: "As an expert in The Full English Breakfast, I would have to say that the one prepared at the Medieval Lodge was one of the BEST I have ever had" (and he does eat them regularly).
Dislikes:
The menacing look of the horror-house mannequin near the stairs. We were relieved that he did not made a ghostly appearance in our room in the middle of the night!
