The King's Arms Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Galloway - an ideal base to explore the beauty of southern Scotland. A former coaching inn, the King's has been offering food and refreshments to weary travellers and guests for over 200 years.

The rooms are attractively furnished, en suite with colour TV, tea and coffee maker, radio alarm and telephone. Guests and locals may dine in our Courtyard Restaurant which has built a fine reputation for its extensive and imaginative menu of mouth watering dishes. The A La Carte menu offers the finest Galloway steaks, Solway salmon and scallops. To compliment, we have a varied wine list to satisfy most tastes.

With 30 golf courses in the region, The King's Arms is the ideal location from which to base a golfing holiday. If fishing is your pastime then try one of our major salmon rivers such as the Cree or the Nith. Our beaches are some of the finest in the country or try water skiing, wind surfing or sailing on picturesque Loch Ken. Cycle or walk ins one of our Forest Parks, no queues, picnic, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Cycle hire is available in town and we are now part of the National Cycle Route 7. There are also many castles, stately homes, museums and National Trust properties in the area.
