Welcome to Hallsannery, holiday cottages in beautiful North Devon in the grounds of an early Victorian country house estate with 50 acres of gardens, parkland, woodland and pasture close to Bideford in North Devon. The four cottages, Gardener's Cottage (sleeps up to 8), Coachman's Cottage (sleeps up to 5) , South Wing (sleeps up to 6) and the Chauffeur's Flat (sleeps 2) are available to rent throughout the year. There is use of the main house grounds, lawns and tennis court and there are wonderful views and 11 acres of woodland and a nature trail. Close by: within 10 minutes drive, the surfing and sandy beach of Westward Ho! is 3 miles away, Bideford is an excellent centre for touring with shops, restaurants, the Burton Art Gallery. The boat to Lundy Island sails regularly from Bideford. The South West coastal path can be accessed at Westward Ho! and various points along the coast. The Tarka Trail has 30 miles of cycling through countryside and estuary, there is an entrance half a mile from Hallsannery. The fishing villages of Appledore and Instow, with its safe sandy beach, both great places for a meal or a wander. Within 30 minutes drive, Great Torrington: the home of Dartington Crystal and the Royal Horticultural Society's garden at Rosemoor. Braunton Burrows: a six mile by two mile sand dune system and the core of the UNESCO Biosphere reserve is 15 miles away.

Recycling Hallsannery recycles drinks cans, food cans, plastics and paper and composts vegetable waste where appropriate. Recycling bins are available. For rubbish which is not recyclable, black bin liners made from a bio-degradable plastic are supplied whenever possible.Lighting : Low energy light bulbs are used throughout.. Electricity supplies are on an EDF Green tariff sourced from renewables.Composting Compost bins are available in the gardenDrying clothes Ample washing line space, both undercover and in the garden is provided for air drying of clothes. There are no tumble driers as these represent an unacceptable use of energy.Electrical appliances Guests are encouraged to turn all appliances off at the mains, rather than leave on standby.
