The room decor was tired. It was cold. There was no reception on the TV. The bed linen and towels were clean but the room itself was grubby. The meal was good but no drinks license. I specifically mentioned I had to leave at 6.30 am but the main door was locked and I did not get out until 7am making me late! Read less

Welcome to the coolest hotel in the Highlands! The Inn dates back to 1715, and has hosted many famous historic characters that include Bonnie, Prince Charlie, & Robbie Burns, but today it weaves that history into a modern, eclectic experience.

We are located in the magnificent Cairngorms National Park on the banks of the River Truim, opposite Loch Ericht – 17 miles of water surrounded by breath taking mountains and un-spoilt scenery, yet unbelievably easy to get to! We are less than two hours from Edinburgh and Glasgow, and under one hour from Perth, Inverness and Fort William. This really is the ideal base for your holiday in the Highlands or for a weekend away!

We rent mountain bikes and you can even hire our pontoon boats to travel down the loch, spot the deer, golden eagles or fish. Salmon fishing is also plentiful on the Truim River and if you bring back your catch, we’ll even cook it for you! If adrenaline is your thing, then enjoy some of Scotland’s most extreme mountain biking, snowboarding, kite surfing and windsurfing. The bar/restaurant is mellow and relaxed with fat comfy leather sofas, and tables overlooking the river. From here you can enjoy spectacular views, unwind to the cool languid sounds, sip organic fair-trade coffee or maybe a Dalwhinnie Malt from our village distillery. What are you waiting for?
