The Crown and Garter is a four star AA rated 17th Century Inn / pub with restaurant which also offers separate bed and breakfast ensuite accommodation in beautiful countryside surroundings. The bedrooms are quiet and surround a private very pretty cottage garden complete with pond.

The pub is located approx 10 - 15 minutes from junctions 13 and 14 on the M4, making it convenient for Newbury racecourse, Hungerford, Heathrow Airport, London, Oxford, Windsor and Bath.

For leisure visitors, this traditional Inn/pub is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing, shooting, playing golf or just quiet relaxation. This ancient pub retains many historic features and its unique charm can best be glimpsed in the bar area. The oldest part boasts a huge inglenook fireplace and wooden beams.

The Crown and Garter offers a delicious interesting variety of dishes all freshly prepared on the premises by our partner Chef using mainly local produce and can be enjoyed in either the cosy wood panelled restaurant and bar areas or outside on the patio over looking the enclosed beer garden under ancient English oak. We Offer a full a la carte menu, also full traditional roasts on Sundays (booking essential) and lighter bites such as home baked baguettes and ploughmans.

The Pub is family owned and a friendly welcome awaits. Free car parking and broadband access is available .
