The hotel, originally built in 1549, is situated in the heart of the Isle of Purberk, Dorset, and is ideally based for seeing the local sights and the surrounding towns of Swanage, Bournemouth and Poole. Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum, Kingston Lacy House, and the Jurassic Coast World Heriage Site are all on our doorstep. beaches are 4 miles or a short ride on Swanage Railway Steam Trains from the station at the bottom of our garden.

Also, having received e-mail confirmation of the booking, when checking on the hotel website up to 48 hours later, it still said that the room was available for the dates I had booked it.

The room still looked available on the booking system because we have 4 four-poster full en-suite available at any one time. Your booking was always confirmed!!
We have just been in the process of re-furbishment which is now completed. Sorry that your room had not been done prior to your stay. Can I ask if you said anything on departure as we prefer to deal with complaints at the time. May I also point out that our drinkks prices are in line with all the businesses on the Isle of Purbeck.

It was very much set out as a restaurant. A settee or two would have made the time having evening drinks more comfortable.
