"Delightful stay in charming lakeland inn"
We have stayed in Bowness many times but had never visited the Angel Inn. Based on on-line reviews and the Angel's own website we decided to spend a birthday weekend there. The location was excellent, our room was light and pleasant, the staff were friendly and we enjoyed the food in the restaurant. Being a pub we thought that it might be noisy at night but this was not the case and we slept well on both nights. We will definitely stay at the Angel again. Read less

Location was excellent and the public lounges were very attractive and comfortable. Food enjoyable and good value.
Dislikes:
Don't park under the big tree in the car park where the birds roost - I had to find a car wash the next day.

The Angel Inn is in a great location, and perfect for a getaway break by the lake. The food is always lovely, and our trip made all the better by lounging infront of the fire on a cold day! The room was very clean and nicely decorated, the only thing I would say is that the bed was very small and I wouls have hoped to have an iron in the room. Other than that it was nice. It is quite expensive for a small room which was meant to be a 'larger double', but I suppose you pay for location. Read less

The Angel Inn was built in 1802 as an English gentleman's residence and has been refurbished over the past few years to offer comfortable and stylish surroundings with a contemporary feel, without losing the traditional ambience of a true Lake District retreat.
There are 13 ensuite bedrooms which are all individually styled, 11 in the main building and 2 situated in The Angel Gatehouse. All rooms have tea and coffee facilities, flat screen TV with 10 channels, we have family rooms and some rooms have Lake Views. Rooms all vary in size with the rooms in The Gatehouse being the largest.
Food is one of the main focuses at The Angel Inn with food served all day from 8:30am with just an hours break between 4-5pm. Breakfast is always included for our resident guests, why not start the day with our full Lakeland breakfast or try something a little bit different, pancakes, crisp bacon and maple syrup or smoked salmon and scrambled egg perhaps. All of our food is freshly prepared on the premises with the emphasis on using local produce and suppliers wherever possible. There is always a little something for everyone, sandwiches, hot ciabattas, light lunches, traditional pub dishes or full restaurant meals cooked by our award winning chefs.
Whilst staying at The Angel, why not take a drink from our well-stocked bar, always available are cask ales, a selection of world wines by the glass, draught and bottle lagers and a full range of soft drinks.
All of our guests also receive free access to the nearby Parklands Leisure Club, where you can go swimming, use the gym or steam room, or enjoy a game of pool, full size snooker, badminton or squash.
For all of our guests there is free parking in our own off street car park and there are also free WiFi facilities available in the main bar area, this is also available in some bedrooms.
The Angel Inn welcomes you to enjoy a very special place in the country's most unique landscape, perfect for everyone to enjoy.
Environmental Statement
The Angel Inn is commited to the environment and takes all steps to help and reduce our carbon footprint. Recylcing is at the forefront of our business with all cardboard, glass, paper, plastic and metal sorted and collected by local recyling firms. We also endeavour to use recylcled stock papers for our brochures and tariffs and encourage staff training to reduce waste. All lights are low energy where possible.
