The White Hart Inn

Situated in the quiet hamlet of Charter Alley just 5 miles from Basingstoke, the White Hart Inn is an ideal country retreat from urban stress and strain, but only 15 minutes away from the town centre and railway station. The White Hart was built in 1818 next door to the village blacksmith and close to the coach route from Newbury to Basingstoke. The countryside around Charter Alley is ideal for walkers and cyclists who wish to explore the woods, footpaths and country lanes. Nearby is the National Trust stately home The Vyne as well as many other historic attractions and beauty spots. Tucked away up a narrow lane on the outskirts of the village, overlooking open farmland and woods, the White Hart Inn’s restaurant is ideal for a wholesome lunch or delicious evening meal and equally suited for special occasions, such as birthdays or anniversaries. We currently have 9 letting rooms available all have en-suite shower & WC, central heating, TV, tea & coffee facilities. Broadband internet access is available in all rooms.
