I liked not being pestered by housekeeping. Since I was travelling alone, I liked the fact that I could buy food from the nearby Marks and Spencer rather than go to a restaurant.
Dislikes:
Welcome was a bit curt. This was because I had initially said I would be arriving at 6.30 pm but, due to a change of plans, turned up at 2 pm. I hadn't thought to ring ahead - perhaps I should have.

I am terribly sorry that you felt that my greeting was a bit curt, I assure you it was just when you arrived earlier than anticipated you caught me a bit by surprise. With regard to our sevices we have found that people generally do not like being disturbed at the weekend and so we changed our standard policy and now do not service the rooms at the weekend but include an option for weekend services in the pre-arival questionnaire to try and ensure we provide exactly the level of care required.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay from the moment we were met on arrival, to the moment we left. On arrival our room was upgraded, free of charge, which was fantastic. Our room had a comprehensive welcome pack supplying all of the essentials ie bread, milk, butter, jam, tea, coffee etc.... This was very handy. We had superb facilities with a first class view of Douglas Prom. We look forward to staying at the Town House again some time soon. Read less

Boasting breathtaking views over the harbour, these luxury apart-hotels are ideally situated on the promenade in the commercial area of Douglas, on the picturesque Isle of Man. The Town House has been carefully restored with a period theme through out. The Gloucester is more modern with 5 suites featuring photographs frm local professional photographers focussing on a region of the island. Gloucester has an emphasis on home from home comfort and facilities for the travelling businessman.
Luxuriously restored Victorian town houses, the hotels boasts 11 unique suites, enabling you to enjoy the freedom of your own space, whilst benefiting from hotel services. Suites feature either a super king size bed which can become twin beds or a double bed and a fully-equipped kitchen. Most suites also have a sofa bed and one suite has a stucy which can become a second bedroom.
If you would prefer not to cook for yourself, you can choose to eat in the Coast restaurant, or venture into the heart of Douglas to sample the local eateries.
