Quite location, good food.
Dislikes:
problem encountered leaving our bedroom on the top floor - staircase and corridors were very dark and could not find light switch.
Difficulty in getting comfortable water temp in shower.

New owners David & Alison Nicholas who took over this once glorious hotel have dedicated themselves to restoring its former status. A sympathetic refurbishment has taken place which has made the once tired looking bar, bistro & restaurant areas stylish, welcoming and comfortable. The perfect place to meet, relax, unwind, eat and drink. Modern English Cuisine with some traditional, old favourites, bar menu, a la carte and black board specials too. Sunday Carvery.
Ideally situated between Helmsley and Pickering in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. Rich in history, heritage and beauty, the George and Dragon has a real 'olde English' pub atmosphere hard to find nowadays. Serving top-quality food, local real ales and a great selection of wines.
