The Countryman’s Inn is a traditional inn in the village of Hunton,Lower Wensleydale, North Yorkshire.Situated midway between Bedale, "The Gateway to the Dales,"& Leyburn ,close to the A1 to allow easy access to the North Yorks Moors, Herriott Country, York, Newcastle, Harrogate and Leeds. Ideally located for Catterick Garrison, Richmond & only 5 miles from the historic racehorse training centre of Middleham. Stable visits and transport to the training gallops can be arranged.

The Countryman's Kitchen was awarded the AA Diners Award 2014 for the third year in succession. Open 5 evenings per week not Teusday) from 18.00 to 21.00 & from 12.00 to 19.00 on Sundays for lunch &an early dinner. Reidents should prebook a table at the time of booking if they would like dinner on a Sunday.It has a deserved reputation for its wide choice of freshly prepared local dishes.
Environmental StatementSolar panels installed to service hot water requirements. New double glazing to all guest rooms. All cardboard and glass waste re cycled.Our landfill waste has been reduced by 35% annd maintained at that level for 5 years. Rainwater is captured and re cycled to maintain gardens. Low energy light bulbs are used used where practical and electricity usage has been reduced by 10% in the last year. We also use an energy monitor to manage usage proactively.
