Likes:
Friendly people good food, and for real ale lovers exelent choice of ales.
Dislikes:
Nothing really sticks out, that would spoil a stay in the Coalbrookdale inn.
Response from Coalbrookdale Inn:
Very sorry for this oversight by our new housekeeper (second week), no excuses. This will be dealt with immediately and we will endeavour to ensure that this does not happen again. We would of only wished that during your four night stay and the time we spent talking with you as our valuable guests you could have mentioned it at the time so it could have been rectified straight away
Warm regards Danny and Dawn Wood

"A relaxing stay with plenty to see and do"
The accomodation (and inn) are well located and the area is very scenic. We had a quiet and relaxing stay but found enough time to visit many of the attractions, some of which are in walking distance, without feeling we needed another break afterwards. Food and drink were good with and there was plenty of choice in the main part of the town. Read less
Likes:
The location was just right and the relaxed atmosphere (we visited outside peak season) made for an enjoyable stay. The staff were very friendly and made us feel at home.
Dislikes:
We found the bed uncomfortable (memory mattress) but this is just personal taste.
A couple of requests had to be made, one went unresolved.
A chair in the room would be useful.
Response from Coalbrookdale Inn:
On line booking problems resolved today with Eviivo 23/02/10. We are sorry Chris and his wife would not book again as we felt we did everything possible for them during there stay albeit at our guest house The Foundry Masters House. A chair(s) is available upon request and sadly Chris did not seem to grasp how to work the TV

This Grade II listed pub has been serving real ale to the ironworkers of Coalbrookdale since the 1830s and now greets locals and visitors alike. A former CAMRA Pub of the Year, 'the Dale' is everything a traditional English Public House should be and is the ideal place to enjoy on your visit to Ironbridge or if you live in Shropshire. As well as being close to the main Ironbridge Gorge Museum sites, it is also close to the Open Air Museum of Steel Sculpture with its large and striking exhibits both indoors and out.

The Coalbookdale Inn has limited car parking at the side of the property and surrounding museum locations together with a small beer garden. Coalbrookdale was the name of the whole valley until the Iron Bridge was built in 1779. It was famous for its ironworking, its foundry skills and its natural resources, coal, clay, iron and lime. The Coalbrook still runs down the western part of what is now called the Ironbridge Gorge meeting the River Severn at the bottom of the Dale. Mostly it is culverted, but in the 18th and 19th century the water courses were more open and supplied the various cooling pools which served the ironworks.
