We are a family of 9, covering 4 generations, who went to Scarborough to celebrate 80th birthday and to see another family member who was appearing in the pantomime. The Chatsworth Hotel was very reasonably priced and the family rooms were very large and airy. The youngest members of our party are pleading to return to this hotel in the summertime, rather than go abroad! Read less

The shower was very powerful and hot (unlike some hotels where you have to chase a trickle of hot water, or take it very lukewarm). The wifi was convenient. Butter (not margarine) was appreciated.
Dislikes:
The room on the top floor was cold (big gaps around the door)
Other guests (very noisy after midnight, waking us several times)
Other guests smoking (preferred the cold to the smell of cigarettes)

I can only say we didn't feel very welcome during our stay. No information given to guest's with reference to clean towels although we did get some using our own initiative by leaving used ones on the floor. Landlady needs to show more in a way of welcome. All of our 21 guest rooms have tea & coffee making facilities, televisions and are spotlessly clean. Every room is en-suite with its own toilet and shower or bath. Most of our rooms are double ensuite rooms but we can also accommodate families.
The hotel is just a short stroll away from the beach and many of our rooms have sea views. Also on our hotel's doorstep are Scarborough's very best attractions including the beach , Peasholm Park and Entertainment Complex, Atlantis Fun Park (under new development), Indoor Swimming Pool & Health Club, Sealife Centre, Scarborough Castle, Hollywood Plaza Cinema, Scarborough Cricket Ground and a nearby golf course.
