Ian and Carolyn invite you to relax at Barnabas House, a gracious Edwardian residence, tucked away in a peaceful Dartmoor location. We offer very comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation, most rooms with great views over the moor, fabulous food and friendly hosts as well as the bonus of free onsite parking. Both leisure and business travellers are most welcome.

Guest rooms at Barnabas House are spacious and centrally heated with comfortable beds, colour TV/DVD with Freeview, hospitality tray and complimentary toiletries. Our ground floor en-suite double with its own private patio is a particular favourite for our less mobile guests.
Our cosy twin en-suite rooms are always popular with friends or family members travelling together, or you can enjoy our beautiful double rooms with comfy sofas and great views. Most rooms have desks and access to a fridge, either in the room or nearby.

Work or play, get your day off to a great start with a full English or continental breakfast using fresh local produce, served in our breakfast room or on the patio if weather permits. Vegetarian options are available and special diets can be catered for by arrangement. Specially prepared packed lunches can be arranged and home-cooked evening meals are usually available on request.

We have secure cycle storage, and drying facilities for walking and cycling equipment. If you're blogging as you go, why not take advantage of the free wireless internet access to keep up to date.

Yelverton is a pretty village with evening meals available a short stroll away. Leave your car in our free parking and take the excellent bus services across the moor or into Plymouth and Tavistock. The beauty of Dartmoor is on your doorstep for walking or cycling, including Drake's Trail, the newly opened extension to Sustrans route 27. Buckland Abbey, ancestral home of Sir Francis Drake, is less than 2 miles away, as are the beautiful gardens at "The Garden House
Environmental Statement
In May 2009 we were amongst the first tourism businesses to be awarded the Dartmoor First award for conservation, recycling, energy use, food sourcing etc. This means that we source food from local suppliers as far as possible, that lightbulbs are low-energy, and that we fully participate in all local re-cycling initiatives. All radiators in guest rooms are fully adjustable and we encourage guests to use energy and water wisely. Although in principle if you are staying for a few days we change towels every dayand bedding every other day you do have the option to re-use thus saving energy. We walk to the local butcher for eggs, bacon, sausages, ham and cheese. Our clotted cream and ice-cream is delivered from a local farm and the local baker delivers our bread.
