We stayed for one night whilst visiting relatives and wanted a stylish, fun, privately run hotel. The hotel is small with 19 rooms, but it is operated like a luxury boutique resort hotel, with care attention to detail and a friendly welcome. Our subterranean room had an in-room jacuzzi, hummingbird wallpaper, velvet drapes and a cowhide chaise longue, but you can choose to suit your tastes! Read less

Liked the little touches I've previously only seen when either paying through the nose, abroad, or both. Staff greeting was always excellent, room detailing was good.
Dislikes:
The building itself is old and not huge, which brings limitations, but these are not the fault of the hotel managers and you must see past these to the attention to detail.

We loved our room, the view and the food in the restaurant
Dislikes:
Our room was very hot when we arrived (we had to open the windows fully to cool it down). you could save on heating costs by checking radiators are not on too high!

We booked the Waterside Hotel as we love the individuality of boutique hotels. Our welcome was pleasant enough and instruction to our room perfect however we must have missed the bit about no lifts and lots of stairs so that was a wee bit of shock. Our room was beautifully decorated although usual size and we had to hunt out the velux controller. Would we stay again mmmm probably. Read less

The happy, cheery staff were excellent on all occasions. The reception/bar/dining area was well appointed. Our breakfast was delicious......how does the chef cook such gorgeous poached eggs?
Dislikes:
The towels were too rough/firm for my liking as I love oversized fluffy ones. The stairs were a killer especially after a full dining experience!
