I want to explore Oxford and surrounding area and this little jewel B&B was a nice option. I have received a friendly welcome and experience a unique stay in a characteristic house. After visiting Oxford and shopping in Bicester Village, just so close to the B&B, I found the necessary relax in the beautiful Jacuzzi bathroom back at the B&B. The breakfast options was superb a nice way to start another day heading back home via Stratford upon Avon after such as inspirational staying. Read less

Situated within the village environs of Grendon Underwood which traces its history back to Medieval England, Shakespeare House is one of the most historic homes in Buckinghamshire.
Nick Hunter and Roy Elsbury, your hosts, will be delighted to welcome you into their historic home, and if you are interested, offer you a unique insight into the past of this fascinating former coaching inn, and its most illustrious guest, William Shakespeare, after whom the house is proudly named. According to tradition, William Shakespeare stayed here on several occasions when en route between Stratford upon Avon and London, and it is said he may have gained inspiration during one of his sojourns here for "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
For those who are keen studiers of English and/or Elizabethan architecture there is much to see and enjoy during your stay. Our aim is clear: to ensure you have the most relaxing and enjoyable time here at Shakespeare House. A truly unique setting away from the bustle of modern life. We offer a selection of stylish rooms, all with private bathrooms with either a bath, spa bath, or bath and separate shower, at different rates.
